Surrey Volunteer Police Cadets
Our mission is to Inspire and Support Young People to achieve more than they realise they can and to empower young people to lead social action in their communities
ABOUT US:

The Volunteer Police Cadets is the nationally recognised police uniformed youth group throughout the UK.
The purpose of the VPC is not to recruit police officers of the future, but to encourage the spirit of adventure and good citizenship amongst its members.
We believe that every young person deserves the opportunity to thrive regardless of his or her background.
We encourage young people from all backgrounds to join the VPC, including those who may be vulnerable to the influences of crime and social exclusion.

WHY OUR WORK MATTERS:

Our Cadets not only attend weekly meetings, but commit to volunteer their time supporting charities, community events and policing operations.
We actively encourage applicants who may have not had the easiest start to their lives, for whatever reason that may be and we offer a real diversionary opportunity for some of the county's vulnerable young people who may be at risk of exclusion, for any reason.
Our Cadet demographic includes over 25% from underrepresented groups and almost 40% who identify at being at risk of exclusion.
Our weekly sessions and extra events are run by Police Officers, Staff, Special Constables and Police Support Volunteers who give up their own time to support the scheme.
We want to reach out into more of Surrey's boroughs and we need more you as an adult volunteer to make this happen.
