We are Sight for Surrey - an ambitious charity offering a lifetime of support to people who are blind or partially sighted, Deaf, deafblind or hard of hearing. Just some of the things we offer include training, IT support, adapted equipment, benefits support, communication classes. We also have a programme for children with vision impairment. which includes things like habilitation training, recreation and a teen programme.
There are many people in Surrey who experience sensory loss and become isolated and lose independence. We are there to support people, offering training, equipment and support. People are at the heart of everything we do. We provide specialist, hands-on, practical support - tailored for their needs.
We are looking for volunteers who are patient and have a passion for supporting others. Because our roles vary so much, we are sure that whatever your personality is, there will be something which suits you!
We offer a wide range of roles which are flexible and can be fit around your schedule. Many of our roles can be done locally (e.g. befriending, collection boxes) which works really well for lots of people.
