ABOUT US:

We are the largest Scout Group in Surrey West District and have flourishing Sections plus a strong Executive committee and excellent parental support. We're one of the oldest Groups in the UK and very proud of our history - though constantly looking to the future and new plans.

Our Beavers and Cubs meet weekly at Guildford United Reformed Church in central Guildford (with many trips out plus camping etc especially by the Cubs) . Our Scouts and Explorer Scouts' programmes are based round weekend adventure activities rather than a weekly evening meeting. We offer Duke of Edinburgh award activities up to and including Gold level (Gold expedition recently completed by 6 Explorers) .

WHY OUR WORK MATTERS:

We believe very strongly in the opportunities Scouting offers young people for developing confidence, the ability to undertake challenges which complements their academic education, self-discipline, and above all to have fun in a sociable environment. Leadership opportunities for those who are interested are also valuable.

OUR VALUES:
High quality enjoyable programmes; highest standards of child protection and safety; committed team of leaders and Executive members. The young people are at the centre of everything we do.
THINGS WE ARE PROUD OF:
Our Group (6 Scouts and 6 Beavers) was selected to represent Scouting at the recent Commonwealth Day Service at Westminster Abbey in the presence of the Queen. A huge compliment! But on an every week level we are proud of our hugely over-subscribed groups, our team of leaders, the fact that one of our Scouts has been chosen for the 219 Jamboree, our summer Family Camp .. lots of things.
WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN OUR PEOPLE:

Enthusiasm, team work, spirit of adventure, sense of humour, commitment to our high standards.

HOW WE ARE DIFFERENT:

See above! We believe we offer an outstanding experience for young people, especially in outdoor adventure activities.
