Guildford opera
We are the local amateur opera group run by our members. We aim to rehearse and perform two fully staged operas a year, sung in English at a venue in Guildford, often at the Electric Theatre. We welcome students to join us for one or two years for the experience of putting on a show.
ABOUT US:

We have an excellent reputation for the standard of our productions. We run the whole show and welcome singers to join us at our rehearsals in Merrow on Wednesday evenings. We also need volunteers to work backstage or help with publicity, set building, etc. We can offer lifts to rehearsals and free membership to all students.

WHY OUR WORK MATTERS:

We give a platform for audiences to see and hear opera performed locally at a fraction of London prices. We also fill the principal roles in at open auditions, which gives an opportunity for new talented singers to sing large roles, which often results in them going on the have successful careers in national and international companies..

OUR VALUES:

OUR AWARDS:
We have recently won 2 NODA awards - the 2017 prize for the best opera in the SE district and runner-up in the programme design category.
THINGS WE ARE PROUD OF:
We are a friendly group and welcome all to join us.
WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN OUR PEOPLE:

For the chorus - enthuasiasm for singing and acting. For behind the scene jobs, a willingness to get along with people of all ages.
