G Live is a state of the art entertainment, conference and hospitality venue located in the heart of Guildford. It is one 12 venues within HQ Theatres & Hospitality’s (HQT&H) current portfolio of regional theatres and concert halls.
G Live has a capacity of 1,700 for a standing gig or just over 1,000 for seated events, and this flexibility helps us to ensure that the programme is as broad as possible. As well as live gigs, concerts and performances, the Main Hall can also be used in many other formats, for example, to host the annual G Live Beer Festival as well as for exhibitions, gala dinners and award ceremonies.
Our Main Hall benefits from the most sophisticated acoustic installation that ensures a natural sound. Complementing the comfortable seats which provide unparalleled views, and air conditioning, our acoustic environment ensures that G Live sets the standard for the finest live entertainment in Surrey.
An eclectic programme features a popular array of top-quality musicals, drama, comedy, dance, family shows, one night events, and rock and pop entertainment. The theatre is also proud to present many community based shows that often involve local schools, choirs and charities.
The volunteers here get involved in supporting the Front of House team at G Live by undertaking a range of usher (steward) duties: meeting and greeting our patrons, checking tickets and showing them to their seats, selling ice creams and programmes as well as covering the cloakroom. They also play an important role in the fire safety and evacuation procedures for the venue.
"I find it a good way to do some good in the local community while also having the opportunity to see diverse shows that I might not have otherwise seen. Everyone is really friendly and appreciates your help."
