At Hydon Hill, the Leonard Cheshire facility in Godalming, we provide support and nursing care for up to 38 physically disabled adults in a friendly and safe home. Our facility is based in a beautiful woodland area, and we are lucky to have big grounds in which are included individual customer gardens, a big woodland area, and a sensory garden.
We provide a great deal of services here, giving the individuals who live here brilliant opportunities to get involved in activities such as day trips, sailing, regular quiz nights, music mornings, we open a bar 2 times a week, a shop daily, keeping their lives as interesting as possible. To make all the activities that we provide possible we need volunteer support. We have volunteers who also do work that isn’t directly people facing such as gardening and maintenance, and also opportunities to support the physio team, so we can really find something to suit anybody. We are looking for more volunteers, whether that be individuals who come in on a regular basis, or groups coming in together, we really don’t mind as whatever time that can be given is so greatly appreciated.
Wanting to do something to help better the life of someone else.
Hydon Hill really does feel like a home, and that is down to the residents, staff and volunteers coming together as a big family.
