DMAD - MARINE MAMMALS RESEARCH ASSOCIATION
Marine Mammals Research Association-DMAD is a non-profit and a non-governmental organization that aims to create an ecological consciousness through its science and research activities. Our goal is to raise both public and academic awareness in order to identify and locate the habitat problems regarding the conservation of marine biodiversity in the Levantine and Adriatic Sea. In order to generate effective conservation strategies, we transform our research into awareness and management skills
Marine Mammals Research Association - DMAD (www.dmad.org.tr) is a dedicated NGO that aims to promote the conservation of marine mammal species and their habitats through integrating academic studies and public engagements and social awareness campaigns. Montenegro Dolphin Research is a first year-round study that addresses a variety of questions about cetacean abundance, distribution of the species, investigation of the behavioral effects of marine traffic and fishing practices in the located habitats. Montenegro Dolphin Research covers the coast of South Adriatic Sea, as to be its research and scientific data territory. Furthermore, MDR holds an important place amongst the area by being one and only NGO that generates a professional and methodological research effort focused on the marine biodiversity and ecological consciousness.
This is an extremely valuable opportunity for graduates and undergraduates in order to gain experience in the marine mammal research field. There is also a chance to develop a scientific project for your Bachelors and Masters thesis. Dedicated and consistent researchers from all over the world are highly encouraged to apply for the residency that is available for all the year. We recommend minimum two months of attendance with possible exceptions for the shorter periods. -True interest for marine conservation, -Ability to cohabit in a dynamic and multicultural environment, -Respect for the organization’s rules, -Proven experience of working effectively as a part of the team, -Fluent English and good communication skills, -High computer literacy and willingness to learn new softwares.
