First Step (Green) Volunteering
The First Step (Green) Volunteering programme provides opportunities to introduce to people to environment volunteering. We work with a range of partners to offer a wide range of volunteering taster sessions.
ABOUT US: 

You could try community gardening, heathland management, clearing footpaths, hedge planting, micro volunteering, climate action, or even sheep MOTs!

You’re guaranteed a warm welcome, will experience new things, and can find out more about ongoing environmental volunteering opportunities in Surrey.

WHY OUR WORK MATTERS: 

Out aims
• Provide a programme of opportunities to introduce people to environmental volunteering, with a focus to engage under-represented communities.
• Increase the number of volunteers to support local action in environment, climate change and biodiversity, waste reduction, energy, flood resilience, circular economy, micro volunteering.
• Increase diversity and inclusion in Surrey’s environment sector.
• Empower residents to make lasting change for environment, climate change and biodiversity.
• Empower residents to improve and maintain their health and wellbeing.
• Maximize social value outcomes for people, communities, health, skills, employment, environment, climate change.
• Green volunteering across Surrey will be more joined up.
