Dog foster carers urgently needed

Freedom is a dog fostering service helping people find freedom from domestic abuse. By fostering a dog, you'll enable the owner to access a refuge, safe in the knowing their dog is safe.

What You'll Do:

We arre looking for patient and understanding people who are able to welcome a dog into their home on a temporary basis.

Freedom foster carers are not only helping a dog in their time of need, they're supporting a whole family on their journey towards freedom.

Foster carers look after dogs in their own home, usually for around 6-9 months. During this time you'll receive regular support from our Freedom team. You don't need to transport the dog anywhere other than a local vets for their regular vet treatment.

Why You'll Love It:

Fostering has all the benefits of owning a dog, without the expense or long-term commitment. Placements can last around 6 to 9 months and Dogs Trust covers all food, expenses and veterinary bills. We'll provide all the equipment your foster dog will need during their time with you.

What You'll Learn:

Our foster carers say one big benefit is learning about so many different shapes and sizes of dogs, each with their own personality. A lot of our dogs will need some extra support to settle, our experienced and friendly team will be on hand to support you with this. As a foster carer you have the opportunity to increase your dog training and behaviour knowledge, as well as your experience caring for different breeds of dogs.

What We're Looking For:

We're looking for people who have experience of caring for a dog and are around for the majority of the day to help the foster dog settle in. We aren't able to place dogs into homes with children under the age of ten, or where there are any cats or small pets.

Our team covers London and the South East so you can live anywhere in this area. We also have teams covering East Anglia, Wales, the Midlands, Yorkshire, the North of England and Scotland.
