The university's Sustainability Team are on a mission to make our university sustainable - from reducing the university’s energy consumption, to embedding sustainability into all course curriculums!
The Sustainability Team have created the Green Team, a student volunteering group providing you with hands-on opportunities to develop life-long skills whilst also supporting the university’s sustainability agenda.
With the climate crisis already having significant impact, it’s more important than ever that the University of Surrey is leading the way in achieving a more sustainable future. The work that we do as a team is crucial in ensuring Surrey reaches net zero carbon by 2030 and continues to integrate sustainability into every aspect of university life.

By volunteering with the Sustainability Team as part of our Green Team, you will be to help the university improve its sustainability - whether that's taking action to address climate change, tackling food waste, or improving our local biodiversity.
From communication and negotiation, to logistics and planning, you will also develop a variety of key skills from our diverse team to help you improve your employability as a graduate.
